Your Privacy Choices
Opt out of VideoEV advertising.
VideoEV is cookieless and PII-free by design. We do not collect device IDs, mobile location pings, or personal identifiers from drivers. This page explains the controls available to consumers, EV drivers, and residents covered by U.S. state privacy laws, and lets you submit a request directly.
What VideoEV does and does not collect
VideoEV operates a vehicle media network. We read OCPP 2.0.1 charging session telemetry through our charge point operator (CPO) partners to determine the make, model, year, and battery characteristics of the vehicle currently plugged in. We do not receive driver name, contact information, license plate, payment data, or device advertising identifiers.
Vehicle hardware identifiers we receive are hashed and never published. They are used only to resolve a vehicle profile (make, model, MSRP tier) for ad targeting. They are not joined to any consumer identity graph that we control.
No cookies. No mobile IDs. No probabilistic tracking.
VideoEV does not set advertising cookies on any consumer device. We do not buy or use mobile advertising IDs (MAIDs), do not run probabilistic mobile location pings, and do not maintain a cross-site behavioral profile of any individual driver.
Because targeting runs against the charging session signal rather than the driver, there is no individual user profile at VideoEV to opt out of in the way you would on a typical adtech platform.
Opt out of session-based advertising at the charger
If you are a driver and would prefer that your individual charging session not be used to deliver targeted advertising, you can request a session-level opt-out in two ways:
1. At the charger. Most VideoEV-enabled CPO partners surface an in-app or kiosk control labeled “Privacy choices” or “Ad preferences.” Selecting opt-out causes your session to receive non-targeted, contextual content only.
2. By email. Send a request to privacy@videoev.com including the approximate date, time, and station of the charging session you wish to flag. We honor opt-out requests within 15 days.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
VideoEV honors the Global Privacy Control signal (globalprivacycontrol.org). On every page load, videoev.com reads navigator.globalPrivacyControl and, if your browser sends the signal, we record the honor in a first-party cookie (gpc_honored=1) which suppresses any future tracking or analytics we may add. The marketing site currently runs no third-party advertising tags, so the operative effect today is forward-compatible: when your browser says “do not sell or share,” we record that preference and will respect it in every tracking decision going forward.
Rights under U.S. state privacy laws (CCPA / CPRA / VCDPA / CPA / others)
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have the right to:
- Request access to information VideoEV holds that relates to you
- Request deletion of any such information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of the above
Because VideoEV does not collect personal information about individual drivers in the ordinary course of operating the vehicle media network, most access and deletion requests will return a confirmation that no records exist. Requests should be sent to privacy@videoev.com.
Industry opt-out tools
Although VideoEV does not use cookie-based or device ID-based targeting, you can manage broader cross-industry advertising preferences through:
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) WebChoices
- YourAdChoices
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI)
- Mobile device settings: iOS > Privacy & Security > Tracking; Android > Settings > Privacy > Ads
Children
VideoEV is a B2B advertising platform deployed at DC fast-charging stations. It is not directed to children under 16 and does not knowingly collect information from minors.
